Weekend Recap: Tigers win series over Royals, take on Athletics next

The Detroit Tigers enter this week at 78-54 and sitting comfortably at the top of their division. With the playoffs approaching, the Tigers seem to be in a comfortable rhythm as the season winds down. Winning a series against the Kansas City Royals definitely helped.

The Tigers were unable to get a series sweep, but they were still able to win the series 2-1 by getting a jump on the Royals on Friday and Saturday. The Tigers successfully beat the Royals 7-5 on Friday, in a game where the offense shined through, and beat them again 4-2 on Saturday, this time with the pitching being the star of the show.

Now the Tigers look to continue their success by taking on the Athletics. The Athletics currently sit at 60-72, so this should be an easy series for the Tigers. That being said, it's nothing to pull hair about if the Tigers drop a game in this series. That's just part of baseball. With October baseball approaching fast, these Tigers are looking sharp!
