Despite a Lions loss on Sunday, there's still quite a bit for Detroit sports fans to be happy about. Both the Pistons and the Red Wings won impressive games over the weekend, with the Pistons beating the Dallas Mavericks 122-110, and the Red Wings beating the San Jose Sharks 3-2. The Pistons bump up their win streak to 2 games, while the Red Wings were able to rebound after a tough 5-2 loss.
Despite the Mavericks losing Luka Doncic, the Mavericks acquired Cooper Flagg with the #1 Overall pick, and he's got a lot of people excited for what he can bring to the team. However, the Pistons helped put a dent in the fanfare by getting a convincing win in front of a home crowd. Meanwhile the Red Wings win bumped them up to 9-4. Despite slipping up after a strong start to the season, they're still playing really great hockey, and I think Wings fans have a lot to be excited for.
Tonight, the Pistons are on the road to take on the Memphis Grizzlies in a primetime matchup. The Grizzlies are 3-4, so Detroit on paper shouldn't have too much trouble, although those are dreaded words a sports writer always regrets saying. The Red Wings have a day off as they take on the Golden Knights tomorrow on the road. Let's hope these Detroit teams can keep the ball rolling!
