The Detroit Tigers opened the week with a 3-game series on the road against the Baltimore Orioles. A team below .500, the Orioles did not seem like something the Tigers would need to worry about. In game 1, the Tigers did just that, sealing a victory over Baltimore with a 5-3 win. In game 2 however, it was quite the opposite. Baltimore had their way with Detroit, leading to a 10-1 blowout, ultimately tying the series. The Tigers are still a young team trying to prove themselves to the rest of the league. So far they've done just that, but a loss against a poor team like the Orioles, not long after tying a series with the White Sox could cause some sports journalists and fans to doubt whether the Tigers are the real deal.

Game 3 is going to be a big game for Detroit. They can win the series against Baltimore and put the bad game behind them, or they could hit this imaginary "wall" a lot of fans are speculating. Essentially, a lot of Tigers fans right now are worried that this Tigers run is going to have a rough patch, or a slate of losses, possibly ruining the Tigers season. With a series tie against the White Sox, and now a series win on the line against Baltimore, it's very possible we could see this "wall" arrive sooner than we think. I still believe we are far from seeing that "wall" hit the Tigers though. Remember what I said a few days ago? The "series sweep or bust" mentality is unrealistic and will just lead to disappointment for all fans. While game 2 of the series was disappointing, the Tigers still have a solid chance to win game 3 and seal a series win.

Some key players to look out for in game 3 are Spencer Torkelson, who again had a home run in game 1. This guy continues to put the doubters to silence and prove his worth on this team, especially after some doubts this pre-season. Another guy to watch out for is Wencel Perez. He had 3 at-bats, and capitalized on all 3 of them in game 1, with 1 run and 2 hits, he made sure to make the most out of his moments. Overall, I think we are in for an interesting game 3, and hopefully a Tigers win.
